Faith and trust in the Creator

The Truth Hurts · Episode 83 · audio in Hebrew

The conversation

You know exactly what you want, and still you keep finding yourself in the same place. Not because you don't want it enough, but because your brain is built for survival, not for happiness, and it will pull you back toward the familiar every time you try to move. The way Gili sees it, every possible version of your life already exists, and the only question is what you choose to focus on. She offers a full week of practice: imagine it, feel as though it has already happened, and behave accordingly. Anyone who commits to it all the way does change.

The truth

  • All the possibilities and all our versions already exist in the quantum field. That's knowing, not positive thinking.

  • Faith is built out of stubbornness and persistence. Every time you imagine it and feel "I'm already there," you strengthen it.

  • The brain is programmed for survival and not for happiness, so it pulls us back to what's familiar and safe, and that's why every change feels uncomfortable at first.

  • The way she sees it, imagining isn't enough. You also have to behave like the person you want to be, which includes cutting down on complaints and on speaking negatively about yourself.

  • When a doubting thought comes up, you don't fight it. You simply turn the focus gently back to the goal.

  • Neuroplasticity means the brain is constantly building new pathways. A thought or an action that repeats gradually becomes natural.

Questions and answers

What if I practice for a whole week and nothing changes anyway?

Whether it happens within a week or not, don't stop. She says that if you commit to the process and give it that week, it will bring about change, and that this effect reaches the people around you too. It doesn't stay only with the person doing it.

How can I behave like the person I want to be when my current reality is so far from that?

She makes it clear that this is about choosing which reality to focus on, and that nobody is asking you to ignore the reality you're in. She explains that all the possibilities and all our versions already exist in the quantum field, and that this is knowing, the highest level of faith, not just ordinary positive thinking.

Gili's original episode description

From the day we were born we were given a number, we were taught what's forbidden and what's allowed, we were placed inside molds and frameworks, and boundaries were set for us. A script was written for all of us. But what we don't understand is that we have enormous power to produce reality. Yes, any reality we want. No, it isn't easy. It takes independent thinking, observation and learning.

Life is like an augmented-reality computer game that you move through with your thoughts. Part of your soul is embodied here in a physical body, there's a whole life script, there's a beginning and there's an end, and freedom of choice is granted. There's no joystick here. Everything here you move with your thoughts.

The thing is that in our evolution, inside every one of us, at one stage or another, something wakes up, and usually it comes under the cover of suffering of one kind or another. You've had enough of something: illness, a breakup, a death. There's no shortage of trouble, may it never come our way. But something in you is calling you. That's your soul, and it's calling you to wake up, to really understand the movie. Society likes the person who stays in line. People don't realize that what they want is what decides. They forget that this is a game whose governing principle is free choice. People don't write their own story, they let other people write it for them, they react to situations instead of creating them, they let their fears run their lives instead of stopping for a moment and developing independent thinking through inquiry and asking questions.

Your soul exists whether you believe in the Creator or not. Everything here in Creation comes from the same Source, and that Source puts on and takes off shapes and colors and faces, and does everything it can to wake us up. As they say: wake up, sweetie!
