While we're being taught to bow to the rules of religion, morality, government, science and the rest, nobody remembers to teach us that we have free choice. There is no absolute truth apart from the existence of the Creator. Beyond that, every truth is open to question. Everything exists, everything was created, everything is foreseen, and freedom of choice is granted. That freedom is a person's free choice, and it is the name of the game here.
A person's biggest prison is their own mind, their own consciousness. It's the strongest prison there is, and ladies and gentlemen, it's under our control. Mastery over thought is the essence of every religion. In Hasidic thought they call it the battle over the small city, meaning: who owns the conscious part of me, who's sitting in the captain's seat? Who's running me? My soul? The needs of my physical body? My animal soul? Mentally strong people have rules, they have values, they have boundaries. That's the foundation. Those rules apply first of all to themselves. Just as they set boundaries with the people around them, they set boundaries with themselves. That doesn't mean the boundaries have to be too extreme, but they also can't be so loose that any behavior goes. A mentally strong person knows what they want and which behaviors from other people they're willing to take. We are the ones who teach the people around us how to treat us, through what we're willing to put up with and what we're not. Our own free choice.
A person has to know what they want, because our brain has to know what we want. Our reality is a product of our consciousness. It's precisely the least realistic part, the part that dreams things up, that will bring you results.
