The conversation

You react to the same kind of event over and over, and it feels like life is just happening to you and you have no say in it. Gili takes a different approach: every event, even the hardest one, is a reflection of a belief sitting inside you, and the opportunity is to clear it, not just to react to it. There's no need to wait for life to prove to you that you deserve something good before you believe it. Belief comes before reality, not the other way around. And the way she sees it, this isn't only on the emotional level: she explains that your thoughts and your feelings reach all the way down to the body's chemistry, and affect what actually happens to you.

The truth

  • Everything in the universe, including thoughts and feelings, vibrates at a particular frequency, which she says can be measured.

  • Reality is entirely subjective. Everyone sees it through their own personal filter, not as it actually is.

  • Our reaction to an event is a choice, and that choice is what decides whether reality gets locked in or changes.

  • Beliefs are what create reality in the first place. They aren't a result of what happens to us.

  • Anyone waiting to prove to themselves that they're worth something before they'll believe it has the order backwards. Belief comes first, not reality.

  • The brain transmits as well as receives. A thought that repeats enough times becomes the movie of your life.

Questions and answers

Something bad just happened to me. How am I supposed to relate to it at all?

First of all, don't rush to react. Every event, even the most extreme one, is a reflection of a belief sitting inside you, and the real opportunity is to clear that belief, not to react to the event. When you react the way the event "demands" that you react, you give it weight, and that's how it comes back.

Why do I have to prove something to myself before I let myself believe in myself?

You don't. In the episode Gili describes this as a common mistake, waiting for proof before you believe in yourself. Reality is a product of your beliefs, not the other way around. You need to see yourself the way you want to be and to believe that you deserve it, and reality will line up accordingly. Don't wait for it to prove that to you first.

Why do I physically feel it in my body when I'm stressed or sad?

Thoughts and feelings reach down to the body's chemistry and affect blood flow. When a person is focused on love and abundance, that activates the genes responsible for vitality and growth, and with negative thoughts the opposite happens. This phenomenon is called epigenetics.

Gili's original episode description

Everything in the universe, from the smallest particle to the largest star, vibrates at a particular frequency, and that includes our thoughts, our feelings and even our physical body. We may not be aware of it, but our feelings are a vibration that can be measured. There's a high vibration and there's a low one. When you're in a state of love, in appreciation, in joy, you're operating at a high frequency, which means you're radiating positive energy, and that's also what comes back to you.

One of the aims of this podcast is that you'll adopt one approach that will change your life by centimeters. A centimeter, in terms of time, is kilometers. We're living in a period of powerful events. The world is changing, and changing fast, paradox on top of paradox, and you don't have to be some kind of radical to notice that reality is deceptive and that every truth is open to question. Open your mind, open your eyes, and start asking questions. Don't accept anything as absolute truth.

Reality isn't quite the way you know it. It's far more flexible than you think.
